”The Book of the Abyss…” - Cipher_O

(David’s Apartment)

She watches him, wondering what strange show is going on, behind the opacities of his orbs.

He was the sort with a lot going on, under the surface.

She saw that in his poetry.

A very strange creature.

Each peek beneath the surface, a labyrinth to be lost in.

Leaving impressions, resounding across the surface of her subconscious.

She thought of him, at random moments.

She appreciated how he made her ponder things…

Like the nature of art.

How…

This strange age has brought about a predominance of internet trolls.

But somewhere in there, there is…

Something like truth.

Or a closer approximation to truth, based upon the principle of iron sharpening iron.

Or…

Soul mates, bringing about the soul, or…

Elements of the soul.

Did she believe in soulmates?

What is a soulmate?

A soulmate is one, capable of sharing an abyss.

What a strange thought.

Soul mates as a tested concept.

She was never one inclined to crushes…

Was that a lie?

A lie to herself?

Or…

Are things, all things, partially true, partially fiction.

And if this be true, then…

Any path may be taken at any time, and, in some form, we will get to the same place.

Which takes the guesswork out of daily decisions.

But…

The realization of such a truth, actually, or, in actuality, alters the truth, as previously known.

And you are in a labyrinth that is inside of a labyrinth.

Perhaps into infinite labyrinths.

How can so much be placed inside of a moment, seemingly instantaneous.

Little ashen filaments that impossibly unravel in painted eternities.

And then…

Thinking in someone’s presence.

Sharing that energy.

Sharing that abyss.
