Lesser faces
In the blackest night I pace
In hopes I meet him face to face
He roams the earth but not in his skin
For he knows in hell we'd push him back in
A coward is he for he sends lesser faces
To hide and destroy homes in many places
Like a child with a tantrum who only throws fits
Death and destruction he only permits
As he tries to strike my heart
I'll never let it fall apart
For my heart is clad in God's love
His evil works will deflect with help from above
As fine wine ages his anger only rages
He'll never have my heart trapped in his cages
So the more we pray
we can keep him at bay
In hopes I meet him face to face
He roams the earth but not in his skin
For he knows in hell we'd push him back in
A coward is he for he sends lesser faces
To hide and destroy homes in many places
Like a child with a tantrum who only throws fits
Death and destruction he only permits
As he tries to strike my heart
I'll never let it fall apart
For my heart is clad in God's love
His evil works will deflect with help from above
As fine wine ages his anger only rages
He'll never have my heart trapped in his cages
So the more we pray
we can keep him at bay
