Within the shadows
And the shades
Of grief
And disbelief
Lost
With only
Their now shrouded
And clouded
Memories
The empty solitude
That now engulfs
Their ever awakening sadness
The cold comfort of Christmas
Looms
Like darkening clouds
No gifts to give
Or to receive
Other than the grief
And the recent memories
Offer no solace
As they dwell
Of their loved ones demise
And the suffering
And the pain
And the self sacrifice
And the confusion
And despair
As their loved one
Is no longer there
As they sit alone
In the room
Full of memories
No solace in this tomb
As they weep in silence
