Goodbye Sugar

I have been in love
With your sweetness for too long
I can't resist you

I am drench and wrap
In your delicious sweetness
Entangled in you

I lost my control
Whenever you are around
And forget myself

Your tempting sweetness
Entice my palate to taste you
You are poison

Your sugary taste
Leave traces in my system
I can't get it out

Goodbye dear sugar
Though I crave for your sweetness
I can't love you now

I must forget you
Before your sweetness kills me
With diabetis

Author's Note
An old poem I wrote when I found out that I have high sugar in my blood. But I still keep on eating sweets despite my resolution to avoid sweets. Just three days ago I was rushed to ER for other health problem. And the Doctor told me that I have to control my sugar. This time I'll stick to this.
