Autumn's Rain
Autumn brang it’s rain
Cold and unmerciful
It pooled on the summer dry land
Washed the grease off the roads
Growled through storm drains
After the hammers fell
The wetlands hushed and flooded
Paths submerged, deserted
The peace lost
Hiding in the dying reeds
With the afternoon owls
And red gold autumn sun
set a blaze the leafless trees
Before the stone grey dusk
The Sirens of the pig
Killed the peace
Or was it fire
Or was it death
Those sirens killed the peace
Bricks and bullshit
Flood over the land
Faster than the rain
