A thousand ledges

I've spoken in a dialect no one knows,
I've acted ways no one knew.
I'm constantly in a place where other can not go
A place in my head you can never go.

It's been my best escape
A place of great debate
A place where my pure intentions and emotions are derailed
Where the true me has been inpaled
Constantly weighing my true value
Hanging on by a thread
Hanging on the edge
Talking myself off a thousand ledges

In this place I'm screaming
But it seems no one hears me.

I've carried the weight of the world on my shoulders
But you can never see me cave in
I've been hurt a million times
So close to tears but I'm always smiling
So close to tears but you can never see me crying.

Saved the world at my own expense
Did so much to impress everyone,
I've been the one to expand

Stretched so thin to the point of breaking
Yet still it's the world I'm saving.
Had to become an adult as a child,
The burden to this day I'm still carrying.

I don't know if I could be the hero you need to be
I don't know if I can make it to another day
I keep dragging all my burdens
Afraid to open up and be someone else burden
I wish you knew, how strong I stand
And all the times I come to your defense
It's always been me that needed a hand
