Unbreakable

I surrounded myself by glass
     somehow thinking it was
             impenetrable.
 But it’s glass…
      weak and see-thru
             and you saw my flaws.
In a short amount of time,  
       you found the way
             to break that glass.  
Like before,
       I crumbled to the power
             you held over me…
Until my knees hit the floor
       and I remembered  
             the pain.
 It resonated throughout my body
        til my legs strengthened
             and made me rise again.
 I stared down at those shattered
        pieces of glass and realized
             that’s not where I belong.  
I will rebuild myself…
        and this time,
             the wall will be stronger
                    and you will never break it.
