Third Dance

Note: This is the third poem in a set of 4 titled "Insanity Breeds Lowly Company." The first and second of these (First/Second Dance) are posted here as well if you wish to read them as they were meant to be.

Third Dance

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
(Forgive me Father for I have sinned)

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
(Holy shit, this is more than just me)
God from God, Light from Light,
(I’m a priest for heaven’s sake)
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
(The blood, so thick and sickeningly red)
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
(so much blood…)
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary
(Ave Maria, gratia plena, dominus tecum)
(God, in his glory, has left me to soak in my own…)
he was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
(Danube… screaming; floating so peaceful)
On the third day he rose again
according to the Scriptures;
(…as we forgive those who trespass against us)
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
(We will meet again you son of a bitch!)
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
(Heh Heh Heh, you didn’t even see the knife)
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
(My love can’t be broken, my prophecy solid)
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
(My sins flow like tears, my baptism a shield broken)
We look
(DEATH)
for the resurrection
(IS)
of the dead,
(BEAUTIFUL.)
and the life of the world to come.
(murder…is…sweet…)
Amen.*
