Unity
I don't want to be your lover
I want to be a spirit that floats 3 inches
above you
I don't want to be your friend
I want to be the shoes you trample on when you make your way into the world
I don't want to be your mother
I'd rather be the ocean mist that adorns
your cheek and evaporates on your bicep
I don't want to be an enemy
I want to be the dirt you came from and
will return to when death calls
I don't want to be a stranger
I want to be the echo of your name you
turn to face when you are called
I want to be with you, in you, around you
and beneath you
I will not be content to kiss or fall at your
feet
We must have fusion, We must have Unity
I want to be a spirit that floats 3 inches
above you
I don't want to be your friend
I want to be the shoes you trample on when you make your way into the world
