My Family

To everyone else I was an only child
I got whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it
Alas, I had no friends to play with

Although, in my eyes I wasn't an only child
I had a twin brother who lived in my mirror
We would talk together for many hours

It always seemed like he could read my mind
Always knowing what I wanted to say, and he would copy me
I love my brother

My cousin came over to play one day
I introduced him to my brother
He laughed and called me a freak

When I wasn't looking he smashed my mirror
I was livid
So I took a glass shard, and thrust it in his neck

Nobody hurts my brother

This poem can be interpreted in many ways. Was the child really talking to himself, or something else? Do you feel sad for the child? Tell me your thoughts in the comments.
