Self Aware

Simple silent tongue
run my features
stung creatures

sing it sung
wrung it out
those thoughts

running about
sharing space up top
with animal teachers

slowly on me dawns
the path I've chosen
long gone long ago
softly spoken

loops back around
in choking laughter
swallowing myself
in joyous rapture

Don't make me laugh
my past is an unfeeling hell
sandblasted scorpion
lambasted corporeal shell
shedded, bedded, embedded

in my final words
I will always mutter
yet another spell

my shining bliss
a bright spot
gripped in my chitin forceps

I fill my lungs with books
swell the water of self
picking at the light
with beaks of rooks

I become self aware
a silly toy
