Our Friendship

Our friendship is one that I am truly thankful for
And I promise to treasure every memory till forever more
From the smiles and laughs to the heartache and tears
To the way that you listened when I just wanted someone to hear
The way you opened up to me and trusted me with so much
Made me feel privileged, honored, and loved
Just being here for you is something I always love to do
And I promise I'll continue for as long as life allows me to
Now this isn't a poem to say goodbye or anything of that type
It's just that you never know what's gonna happen in life
And though I truly hope with all my heart you never have to go
I'm still here writing this because I just want you to know
That in case you and I should ever have to part
