Still (Collaboration with PAR)
What are you waiting for
at that measured distance,
submerged in silence?
Perhaps you are hoping
that time will turn backwards;
that history will rewrite itself.
Or do you await a rescuer
to take you away from here?
On the streets,
last night's fog
remains.
The meagre glow
of the waning,
infinite sequence
of footprints
that we left
is just discernible.
My eyes linger once more
upon your distant silhouette.
I glance behind me one last time
before I leave.
In the night,
the thin fog
of the last waning
remains.
The paths still shine
under our feet.
at that measured distance,
submerged in silence?
Perhaps you are hoping
that time will turn backwards;
that history will rewrite itself.
Or do you await a rescuer
to take you away from here?
On the streets,
last night's fog
remains.
The meagre glow
of the waning,
infinite sequence
of footprints
that we left
is just discernible.
My eyes linger once more
upon your distant silhouette.
I glance behind me one last time
before I leave.
In the night,
the thin fog
of the last waning
remains.
The paths still shine
under our feet.
