The soldier

Marching to war,
The real world is my home no more,
only my AK speaks to me,
I'll blow your brains out don't you see?
A bottle of vodka to ease the pain,
I'm Russian, I make all hell rain!
In bullets that is, cause I'm a soldier!

In no man's land,
my best friend got shot,
not part of the plan!
I rushed to his side,
to everything else I was blind.
A German soldier jumped in my path,
Like a damn tiger, I ripped him in half!
My friend cried out, said he was hurt bad.
He was still alive, I was glad!

He was losing blood, losing focus!
I carried him on my back, just like the army taught us!
The Germans were closing in, we were losing men!
Damn, something told me we would not win.
But I kept running, cause I'm a soldier.

I turned a corner,
never saw the mine.
My friend realized it,
but not in time.
Suddenly, I was on my back!
A ringing in my ears, and I looked down.
My left leg was blown, and I heard no sound!
I looked over in a daze,
my friend was dead, it's all a haze.

The medic came over,
tried to help.
But he got shot,
now hes fucked up.
I grabbed his med-kit,
army crawled away.
Cause I'm a soldier,
I won't die today!

I splinted my leg,
grabbed an AK.
Then I dropped down and crawled away.
Deep in enemy land,
Germans to my left and right,
Goddamn!
I decided to make my final stand.
I got up, started blasting,
they were dropping, couldn't believe it was happening!
Then I took a shot in the chest.
I forgot the mine broke my vest! I'm bleeding out, seeing lights!

I hear a voice,
telling me it's alright.
It said " It's OK to give up this time".
I said " Hell no are you outta your mind"?
Cause I'm a fucking soldier!

Suddenly I woke up, still in the war.
I saw Russians, more and more!
We had Molotov's, down went German tanks!
I survived with no god to thank.
They helped me up, yelled " hurry up"!
I stood up and smiled,
Cause i'm a soldier.
