Interior Room Exposure
I looked death in the eyes
And said goodbye
Already gone
Before they turned out the lights
Numbing his pain
He lays in a nameless grave
Souls a million miles away
His bones deteriorate
His time
God called him home
It’s never fair
To the ones who care
Always left
Alone
Had ear drops in his eyes
Blinded by a new state of mind
Burned the old way of life
Made the family cry
I’d care less if he died
Until he did
Where did it all go wrong
He wasn’t supposed to be gone long
Forgotten since he passed away
He’s not a saint
Remembered by his mistakes
Fake flowers line his tombstone
Words no one reads
By the back fence
Covered in leaves
His families not bereaved
No time
To make amends
How did he not know
He died five years ago
When he never came home
Now I know how not to live
You only get what you give
I want to be missed
And said goodbye
Already gone
Before they turned out the lights
Numbing his pain
He lays in a nameless grave
Souls a million miles away
His bones deteriorate
His time
God called him home
It’s never fair
To the ones who care
Always left
Alone
Had ear drops in his eyes
Blinded by a new state of mind
Burned the old way of life
Made the family cry
I’d care less if he died
Until he did
Where did it all go wrong
He wasn’t supposed to be gone long
Forgotten since he passed away
He’s not a saint
Remembered by his mistakes
Fake flowers line his tombstone
Words no one reads
By the back fence
Covered in leaves
His families not bereaved
No time
To make amends
How did he not know
He died five years ago
When he never came home
Now I know how not to live
You only get what you give
I want to be missed
