Softly Consuming Me...
If you ate me with a spoonful of strawberries and cream
Where the reality of your digestion becomes the state of my mind’s serene
Would my savor be your preferred flavor
The strands upon my head, counted upon my birth
My strength I give to you in the whispers of my worth
Would you dine slowly on my corneas, my retinas that encases my hazel eyes
The wonders to see the spiritual benediction of mankind, to give wary souls rest from population demise
See from my sights the beauty of the Creator’s sunrise
When you softy cut into my nose, you will get a whiff of all the smells of the earth, some scents laced in pain
From the daffodils to the Penrose, unleashing a fragrance of scented success, my battles, struggles, and all that have been gained in my Creole name
In reminisce of inhaling the stench of death, while breathing in the earth after it rains
Oh, such sweet lips I have, they are paired with a mouth that speaks truth
Yes… yes… take a sip of water to wash down all the propaganda my ears have heard from the social injustice and hatred of democracy systematic abuse
Using skin colors, nationalities, cultures as the culprits concealing the real reason behind the depopulation ruse
My neck is the epitome of my dreams, my aspirations, my wishes
A spot behind my ear that makes me surrender my being from a man’s kisses
Rotation in earth’s revolution as I look up to the North, down to the South, and both ways to the East and West
A help meet to a man’s divinity as he is the head, to shelter his existence when cold winds have been dealt
The stinging lashes of the judges’ gavel eradicating his supremacy when hopes have been dashed, lingering, and still felt
My shoulders that have carried the stifling world upon
In the jungle escaping the master’s whip as I ran to find the meaning of the sun
My generation sitting upon my throne, wading through the depth of water hoping once on the other side, freedom shall be won
Gentleness as it upholds various designer purse straps
The currency to give when damaged homes need charity, digging deeper my hands never lack
In God we shall always trust to place society back on track
In cancer research, my financial contributions are being swished around in those glass beacons to decrease the metastasis of cloning cells when they angrily attack, when in remission giving your life back
My chest that holds the chambers of my beating heart
To heal in sickness, support the health rather you are fairer skin, or your complexion has been beautifully kissed by the dark
Your faith, my presence is respectable as emotions unto me will always give your path an illuminating spark
Oh, please be steady, those are my legs, connected to my knees when I have knelt and prayed, for the world to see better days
Sat by bedside memorials when last breathes to the Heavens have escaped to a rewarding afterlife be that it may
Have ran and ran, and ran, until blisters coated my soles, smiling in gratitude that I could still move my toes, that is the way to chase the wind as a runner knows
Hey, be extra careful with my arms, they are ordained to keep the soul warm, cradling cries of generations when sliding from the womb, handed, aspirated to say, congratulations to the infant you have just born
Never tire to snap my fingers to celebrate as other experience murky waters, pestilent, and countries damaged by war torn
When you delicately slice into my hands, made to shape the world from where I stand
Steeple together when praying to ask the Almighty to quench the land, give compassion to woman, child, or man
Even in the midst of storms will reprimand the ill begotten by the sword of the pen, out of love to make you understand
No one is better than the next, we are all here as a lesson, so hold onto my hand
I hope I went well with the glass of wine this is a rare dish
Where no others shall be found even on a bucket or wish list
By the embodiment invested in me
My Creole flesh have outlasted the brutality of emancipation, I am finally free
This particular cuisine is considered an endangered species and cannot be consumed
You may walk away with an empty stomach, but we do have some tasting desert where you will now have more room
My spirit will always roam in the next life devoid of any strife
Where the reality of your digestion becomes the state of my mind’s serene
Would my savor be your preferred flavor
The strands upon my head, counted upon my birth
My strength I give to you in the whispers of my worth
Would you dine slowly on my corneas, my retinas that encases my hazel eyes
