Evening Star
Brilliant Venus, descending in the west,
Displayed with pride her crescent arabesque
In a peep show telescopically blessed
To find a comely orb so statuesque;
An alabastrine cut alien globe
Whose time piece has a numberless face
Accessorizing her timeless wardrobe
To the railroad tracks of outer space
Which she rides into an orient sky
To slumber in the lotus blossom air
Where with beauty sleep she will beautify
The twilit vaults of heaven everywhere!
And vaults of heaven give greater pleasure
Than the catacombs of earthly treasure.

The morning and the evening star convey so much magnificence! This reminds me of a certain person I know very well (and revere very highly). Kara, who I noticed posts on here as a poet named Kou_Indigo. A lot of people in my group call Kara their "Bright Morning Star" and not without reason, given we consider that person to be a living deity. I will definitely read this poem often, if only to remind myself of Kara! And of the oath I swore to that person, that divinity, long ago.

I believe I read some of her poetry the other day and for sure she is mega talented. I can easily picture her as a latter day Byron. I put her on my follow list immediately!

Indeed! Kara has become my latest obsession in many ways, and to call them a modern-day Byron is a most excellent comparison for certain. There is a certain quality to Kara's works that you just do not see in a lot of poets these days, with most trying to be hip or cool with their verses, but without that old world romanticism that Kara's works all seem to possess. I feel like... if one of Anne Rice's vampires had a mind to write some poetry, that is what Kara's works remind me of. With one part in the past, one part in the here and now, and all of it filled with meanings wrapped within meanings with all manner of gothic goodness thrown in to delight the reader. I can see what attracted Kara and Camilla to each other, since they both tend to have that romanticism in their poetry. Me, I find myself attracted to Kara for other reasons, though ones no less profound.
