Blossoms
“Blossoms”
Early each noon to my walls,
My love in a golden light calls.
He loves with a soul that touches his heart,
And this is why our ways must soon part.
In silence, he shows me the special way that he cares
With the naked smile of the sorrow he bears.
Tell me love, blossoms are sad, and decay,
Will you confess you love me today?
Tell me love, “Blossoms are sad,” my poor heart cries
While in Heaven the doves kiss the skies.
And I know you care, for I watch as you go
That you know. I know alas! that you know.
And he cannot see, but I’m smiling to see
That he would share his sorrow with me.
All it needs is a word, simple and dear
It is all we are dying to hear
Each time we part without parting words,
While we listen to the songs of the birds.
Tell me love, blossoms are sad, and decay
What little is there to say?
Tell me love, “Blossoms are sad” my poor heart cries
And there are tears in my eyes.
And I know you care, for as I watch you go,
That you know. I know alas! that you know.
