early morning mists
penetrated by a glow the
Sun the Earth has kissed

in the morning as it rises
Higher in the sky
everyday with new surprises
waking where we lie

another day is beginning
a chance for a fresh start
breathing in and out and in in
matters of the heart

stimulating and reviving
those of us who slept
awake again we are alive in
memories we've kept

and expectations we've created
in yesterday's today
touched by what we've long awaited
we're here again to play
