Her Majesty
She's in a diminishing phase
From last quarter to the new
But soon all her crescent displays
Will please lunatics tried and true
Who watch her climb the eastern skies
As often as the clouds allow
That hallowed orb to hypnotize
The eyes beneath the caveman brow
Housing a love for midnight things
Like moonbeams in midsummer air
And Saturn in his sacred rings
Or screech owls who routinely stare
At all of that which lurks below
A moonrise of majestic glow!
From last quarter to the new
But soon all her crescent displays
Will please lunatics tried and true
Who watch her climb the eastern skies
As often as the clouds allow
That hallowed orb to hypnotize
The eyes beneath the caveman brow
Housing a love for midnight things
Like moonbeams in midsummer air
And Saturn in his sacred rings
Or screech owls who routinely stare
At all of that which lurks below
A moonrise of majestic glow!
