To fade away
To fade away
I choose not
Where is grace and dignity
When man becomes brittle
Creaking and moaning
With every move
Mind shot
No memory of the past
No hope for the future
Except the gleaming brillance
Of drawing his last breath
Strangers surround
A suffocating room
Yet dependent
On their every move
Death is a welcome dinner guest
That never seems to attend
And this so called life
Overstays its welcome
This life was over long ago
A ghostly spectre now roams
The land of the living
Not quite fitting in
Death comes when least expected
And when you reach a point
Of always expecting,
He never shows
O death where is your sting
Bring it quickly to me
To fade away
Alone and forgotten
Is not a welcomed occasion
To fade away
I choose not
I choose not
Where is grace and dignity
When man becomes brittle
Creaking and moaning
With every move
Mind shot
No memory of the past
No hope for the future
Except the gleaming brillance
Of drawing his last breath
Strangers surround
A suffocating room
Yet dependent
On their every move
Death is a welcome dinner guest
That never seems to attend
And this so called life
Overstays its welcome
This life was over long ago
A ghostly spectre now roams
The land of the living
Not quite fitting in
Death comes when least expected
And when you reach a point
Of always expecting,
He never shows
O death where is your sting
Bring it quickly to me
To fade away
Alone and forgotten
Is not a welcomed occasion
To fade away
I choose not
