JOURNEYMAN    (7-28-1999, Galveston Island, Texas)

i am a journeyman
deep in the machinery
of dreams
in my head
careening through scenes
upon iron wheels
screaming
on tracks laid ahead
by conscious
and subconscious things
not yet lived
nor said
that unfold
in the depths
of these dark inner fields
where in visions
i roam
so randomly led
by the real
and unknown
somewhere beyond
my minds control
another dimension
where perhaps
i can retrieve
something good to bring back
to benefit this world
where i am most convinced
at least presently
here now
that this is where
im meant to be
to earn and gain
and know
all which my soul
most needs here now
to live and love
to learn and grow
to further evolve
to hopefully move beyond
the seemingly
never ending
redundant  tiresome cycles
of this ever trying
yet necessary plane
of so much beauty
joy and wonder
of so much suffering
hardship and pain
here in this great
mysterious school
of both lower
and higher learning
where all free will souls
must come and go
again and again and again
until they eventually
get it all right
until they pass
lifes greatest course
and tests of all
which are
ego death
through dissolution
and experiential
spiritual awakening
