Morning Poem

rain swept through here overnight
a wet world's dawning morning light
falls upon a lush and green
sometimes sunlit mountain scene

overlooking sea and shore
lap lap lapping more and more
as last night's weather disappears
along with all the ocean's tears...

cars are moving, buses too
ferries crossing the deep blue
floatplanes lift into the sky
to look down from up on high

on puddles and too streams that rush
through the forest and its hush
where ravens call and mushrooms thrive -
now all around feels so alive...

chlorophyll is hard at work
combining sunshine with what lurks
underground where roots absorb
what is needed for the core

essences to co-create
with the Sun before too late
before day turns into night
ending feeding from starlight...
