Accepting that you had tired of
our high-speed verbal rallies,
I lobbed the last ball over the net,
firmly into your court.
Now I wait to learn
how much energy you have for Us
so I can mirror that back.
Eleven days of silence
and twitchy thumbs
have been difficult to bear,
but the thread is fraying;
I'm moving on.
