Drifting
As I drift through,
aimlessly,
in this requiem of emptiness,
the heavy burden is lifted,
from my shoulders.
I hear distant voices,
singing,
but I am at peace here,
the heavy burden is lifted,
from my shoulders.
I tried to end it all,
and didn't quite succeed,
but this place in which I lay,
is the place I wish to be.
Too many thoughts,
crowding,
before I came here,
and now the heavy burden is lifted,
from my shoulders.
Shall I return to where I was?
Back to where I should be?
Or float here endlessly,
at peace with myself,
and everything.
I tried to end it all,
and didn't quite succeed,
but this place in which I lay,
is the place I wish to be.
I shall awaken from this soon,
but while it lasts,
I shall stay here for an eternity.
