An Ode to a Soulmate
T’is a long time been a’waiting
For those blue eyes to be mine
For a minds eye remembers
A soulmate’s heart is kind
Sunsets and summers past
We embraced, entwined divine
A love like ours would never fade
Eternal bonds with time
We’ve sailed the seas and owned the moon
Travelled the earth a time
Those blue eyes mine eternal
Fires Our Heart aligned
This life or that life
T’is all the same to me
Our Heart is one, our love has sung
To love her one last time
For those blue eyes to be mine

every time a rhyming poem works, a puppy gets a forever home, so thank you for whatever puppy got their forever home because of this poem. it's endearing to see a soulmate remembered in that way. i remember it as being quite the double edged blade. looking forward to reading more of your mind.
