I think sometimes we get so freaking used to hauling around all that excess BS heavy weight, that it feels incredibly foreign finally letting it all go....

Not an excuse, just my own isolated experiences ...

It is so difficult for people to understand that the past, either painful or pleasant, is good for nothing more than "lesson learned." The past does not determine our present, but our personal narratives about that past does.

Dear DK,

Slam dunk with this poem. The past is only useful as lessons learned unless we don’t accept that lesson and carry it around until we do learn it. It’s the only way I can make sense of all the past crappola I keep lugging around. 😏
I can tell you this, today I use this poem to really evaluate how I’m going to learn and shed my past for a better, kinder present. Fantastic write. H🌷
