Day On The Bay With Father - Underway
Launching from the Oakland Estuary
a busy waterway off Alameda Island
where smaller craft must be wary
of much larger vessels, tankers and such
Dad lifts toward heaven
the twenty two and a half foot mast
Assuresall lines and ropes are attached
fires up the outboard will use
to traverse the aqua avenue
that empties on the San Francisco Bay
recall being in awe
of the immensity of the place
serenaded by colonies of seagulls
speckling clear cobalt blue sky
chanting a hardy bon voyage
