ocean blue
he said he was the hue of
ocean blue
turbulent tides, couldn’t sail them
i tried
eyes so wide, fatigued
an empty abyss of marine layer
something was missing there
maybe i was a lighthouse
steering you in the right direction
maybe i was a siren
i didn’t mean to drown you
it’s what i always do
yes, he was
pale blonde
sand and sea
an embrace that caught me
for a little while..
when i pushed him out of my mind
and left the house that condemned me
i knew i had dumped what
kept me from swimming.
