Have you ever died while alive?

I'm called my wife, in a phone booth downtown, during a thunderstorm.

I raise my voice over the rain, telling her how much I love her. and how much the life of ours growing within her means the world to me, and that I am so happy.

She tells me that they love me too. Tells me how much she kicked in her stomach today. She told me how much she's content in her life now.

Before hanging up, I beckoned to our love and safety with chicken chow-mein on my way home, confessing the ways our love will be forever.

If I knew that was the last time I'd talk to her, I would have told her nothing different, I just would've been more louder and emotional.

Despite what happened after I hung up with her, I died while on the phone.
