in pursuit of a life that simply was never meant to exist

they left

all their belongings
at the door
(of their havens)

felt all their burdens
too much

what is a happening
many a fast paced
would never get

starry nights
and the hypothermic edge
cradle life in the desert
post dusk

it was said
that they said
it was
all
worth it

mundane and benign
not for them [to fill
fill their existence with]

fortitude
and solitude
were their
longitudes and latitudes

the archeologists
eventually
dug them up
hand in hand
buried deep in sand
