Growing up in the 80s was a lot of fun
Teen dreams and memories will last a lifetime
What’s a young boy to do when he’s coming of age?
But the MTV generation was discovering a goldmine

Pop songs and music videos was the things to watch
Or calling into radio stations to make a special request
It was a time when innocence gave way to adolescence
As the artists and directors freely expressed

I was glued to the television when certain songs were on
And when Sheena came on the screen it was a dream
I had to keep it cool because I was little more rock n’ roll
Then again, it was for my eyes only or so it seemed
