So I would take a blind eye.
I’d look denial dead in the eye and wink.
Denial. Deny, deny.
I would look the other way.
So they would know I mattered.
They were dumb to how I felt.
They didn’t even see how I felt.
They didn’t notice.
I’d stay out of the way.
Don’t bother them now.
They’re too busy.
Go be alone in your alone place.
Hide under your covers.
Life got in the way.
No time.
Broken promises.
They forgot.
The hurt was overwhelming.
I’d hide behind my scars.
I didn’t know I was confused.
I thought this was normal.
I really never knew what normal was anyway.
Life is looking to help. Not looking for help.
I didn’t know what to ask anyway.
Help? What’s that? No one knew how to help.
I didn’t know what I needed.
Looking the other way always helped everyone, I thought.
Sometimes things needed to be explained.
