[NaPoWriMo 2022] New Moon
New Moon
I noticed the new moon appearing
On my way to the mosque
For tarawi prayer this evening
It was a beautiful sight
A perfect crescent
Delicately painted
In the night sky
The month of Ramadhan
Is here again
A month full of goodness and reward
I offered a prayer of gratitude
At the sight of a new moon
Grateful that I'm alive to witness it
Allah has given me another chance
To atone for whatever sins
I committed before
Hidden or known to others
It fills my heart with Joy
Everytime this holy month comes
It gives me a sense of tranquility
As my faith takes a new leap

I'm always in awe of the power that faith (whatever that means to you) can have to a person's life and how that effects everything - from how they feel, to what they see. Even to how they write their poems. This is a beautiful slice of what makes life worthy to you on the page.

It was such a special and fruitful month for you! Ramadhan and NaPo! Your poems are fabulous. Were they especially interconnected with the spiritual at that time? I'd be really interested to hear about the interface between NaPo and Ramadhan.
