PREPARING TO EMBARK

Thank you for letting me into your house  
Even though you are very  
Discerning with visitors  
 
I bring very little with me  
But nearly all of it  
Camps out on your bathroom counter  
 
It might appear  
I am not an easy machine  
To maintain  
 
But my waves can be  
A glassy calm  
Mirror of a sea  
 
I bobble  
Hugging the shore  
With the rope of your hair
