[NaPoWriMo 2022] Coming Home
Coming Home
After almost fourteen years
I finally had the chance
To visit your grave
It took me this long
To see you
And set foot on the ground
Where you are laid now
I've always wanted to go back
To this place of my youth
This place where you chose
To remain forever when you left this world
But time and circumstances did not allow me
And perhaps I wasn't ready
To come back and reconcile with the past
Seeing your grave after all these years
Brought comfort and relief to my heart
It felt like coming home again
To my beginning, to my past
To the roots that shaped
The foundation of my life
