Regret Within The Lines.

I know of the sin I have committed
Something tinged with the red of a certain beating heart
Piercing it with the molten blade of deceitful emotion
It drips like molten wax down the silver steel
Burning and hardening the hand that is responsible.

I wrapped a rope around the frantic organ and tore it out
Tying it to the ceiling to look at every once and awhile
Wondering why it still beats
Unaware of the fact it's veins are still attached to the vessel
That hopelessly drowns inside a world where all is strange
People of significance interacting with one another

"They mean more than what they seem."

Now the mind is connected to another ones
Thinking in a wavelength almost perfectly in-sync
The laughter they share from the miles away they are
The little smiles and heavy sighs

"Together in past to now in present"

This other one had locked away their pulsing organ
Forever in a music box to never be played again
Handing the key over to the one who is so far
Yet also so close it's tantalizing
Who selfishly pockets the brass object and feigns ownership
Denying all that is not intellectually led.

Do I know you suffer with your feelings
Of course I do
Though to show my sympathies
Leads me into hell
I wish I could return your love
But logic dictates it wrong
The mind only being the leader
The heart eaten by yourself
Served on a golden platter
I know it belongs within you
Help you to live with warmth....

What does this mean I cannot explain
Where I got lost you found me
Though you had also assisted me in falling
Into the pits of insanity
Though I could never hate you.

"Why?"

The heart I pulled down and decorated for you
The one that remains somewhere within you
Must still beat
Meaning you never chewed before you swallowed
Showing respects than poking into it like before.

I still hold the key
The key to your music box.

When will I be able to hear the melody?
Is it something wonderful....
Or something that could kill?

When can I admit to myself....

That I ____ you?
