The Anchor (2021)

I'm attached to you
Wherever you go, I'll follow
I'll stick with you
Through whatever high or low
I'll hold you steady,
as I sink to the ocean floor
Because You are the one
I'm willing to settle for

My heart you've stole
So I'll stay rooted
Gladly accept this role
I won't dispute it
In color I am dull
But Am I also stupid?
I'm never part of your hull
I'm of temporary usage

At first you appreciated it
But then you got too used
You felt entitled to it
So then I felt too used
You let me down
Again and again
You let me drown
Yet I was your closest friend

Why should I drown
For you to breathe?
I want you to stay
But you want to leave
Your heads in the clouds
While I'm Pacific deep

I am the one for you.
But I'm not the one you see
You sent me to Sleep with the fishes
Said there are plenty of them in the sea

I thought I held you firm
When Violent Winds of change
tried to sweep you away
I thought I kept you steady
When turbulent waves
tried to push you astray
But you let me down
You cast me away

Am I too stable?
Do I keep you on a leash?
You want to cut the cable
You want me to set you free

So no longer will I be
Your patient tether
You can let me go
Connection severed

I will no longer weigh you down
You can go on your way
And I will rise above it now
As you drift and sail away
