Divinely Fallen Love

- Divinely Fallen Love -

In times of old, when mankind was yet young...
I walked the lands where the kings of Sumeria,
And the queens of Babylon had all their glories.
There were places pristine, history not begun!
Wild places, filled with a magic and a delirium,
Intoxicating to we of whom you told in stories.
We of whom the ancient voices devoutly sung!
Who will walk with me, until cold is the sun?

Out of darkness, filled with the forbidden light...
I walked the roads between the worlds you see,
Seeking ever, the place I might call my home.
My dark wings of shadow once were so white!
But in that color, only imperfection's company,
Can be seen; its' scars that run deep as is bone.
Beneath the moon, my kind found our delight!
Who will walk with me, beyond mortal sight?

Some call me angel, some devil, some faerie...
I walked the planes of existence, saw the stars,
When before time began, we sailed black seas.
Lilith and I, and others of infernal company!
Before we came to Terra after our mad wars,
Aliens and strangers seeking renewed dignity.
You cannot fathom what I see in this reverie!
Who will walk with me, sharing my destiny?

Good and evil, these things we were called...
But in human hearts, the worst darkness lies,
And aspects of light that stay undreamed of.
Wars and destruction, of these I am appalled!
Down that path is only a world's sad demise,
Caused by those who have no sense of love.
The very earth cries out, like a maid mauled!
Shall the moon too weep, for futures stalled?

Some say: 'the gods abandoned us', in vain...
We but walk paths unseen, seeing far more,
Than if we came down from the very skies.
We live as mortals, and we feel your pain!
Our hearts are alien, and of a distant shore,
But we know love, and truth not disguised.
If this be madness, we need never be sane!
The road before us, is an unknown domain.
