Fallen Petal
withered now
this petal was
once so soft
brush strokes
gently fade away
drift into
the background
of a painting
hanging crooked
on a wall in an old
abandoned hall
the lady in
the photograph
tells us all
her secrets
woven in words
across canvas and
through time
fleeing her mind
truths written
now spilt
upon divine
tapestries strewn
with illiterate ink
not understanding
the consequences
of her actions
and his reactions
dancing together
deviating from
noble intentions
swept up and
lost in a whirlwind
of smoke and mirror
illusions
soft delusions
i’ve bloomed here
more than once before
