The Big Bang
So fast does distance
come from afar,
tapping your youth on the shoulder.
As you turn around
a grey hair falls to the ground,
eye to eye
you know it's real
but mind over matter
you turn away
you try to run
you try to hide
tossing pennies into wells
that have gone dry
so fast does distance
come from afar
fleeting is the youth of yesterday
the tic toc of the clock
becomes so loud, banging in my ear
as distance and time collide with one another.
