winter blooming/the betrayal of you
the betrayal of you
that led to heartbreak
caused a volcanic nuclear winter in my mind
and now i find myself losing what i never deserved;
sanity
all life has been consumed
and my world is purged of any semblance of hope
when i see that light that comes for me
will it take my bones away
after ripping me into pieces?

It’s a neat little write this one. I like the exploration of the self that you take here in a few lines. I also like the question at the end and how this is a useful visual tool in wondering about the outcome long after the poem has finished.
