My Choice
“My life, my choice” I’d always say
A strength forgotten in recent days
Reminded now to take it back
The choice to get my thoughts on track
So counting blessings one by one
—I’m deep in love with my 2 sons
—of basic needs we’re well supplied
—true friends, the best prize, by my side
—my mind and body work quite well
Hmm, overall my life is swell.
So hush now thoughts of discontent
Though one most loved is not present
Still this heart WILL find its smile
This day, I’ll live my life with style.
