As you wish

What would you wish of me?
Would you have me disappear forever from your sphere?
Would you want me silently, barely present in your farthest periphery?
Would you ask I hush, shush & bury feelings,
pretending?

here again, a little sad & broken, seeing how
unquenchable desire wreaked wreckage

It would thrill me to hear from you
sentiments of love, affection & desire…
But since that cannot be,
I’m content in the friend-zoned
(wishing we could speak as true friends, freely)
This one-sided conversation, it breaks my heart
unsure you even care…
I wonder now, what do you wish…
Is this a gradual asphyxiation
cutting off each breath of hope I might inhale?
Is this what you truly want?
I whisper with this final exhalation:
