no-knock  warrants

a  sonnet

“I discovered to my joy, that it is life, not death,
that has no limits”—Gabriel García Márquez

swift to invade my public privacy,
reticent, yet, to bare your piracy,
you burst the doors i've shuttered from the night,
catch me pants down, in my pajama plight.

your no-knock warrants seal, with brutal force,
life's breath-and-body Gretna Green divorce.
both helpless babe and feeble sage you mock,
your policy to enter with no knock.

guilty, till innocence lies cold and dead
upon the jury rock where men have bled;
the wretched of the earth, handcuffed by death,
on whose subpoenas hangs life's final breath.

stolen by no-knock warrants in their prime,
the blessed dead await Redemption Time.
