Gold, Lead and Blood
I tilt my head down
my face nestled into your neck.
Your tears fresh on my shoulder
mine running down your back.
My fury blisters your skin
your fear melts through my veins
my gut goes tight
your blood runs cold.
We are both scarred by sharing
both sullied by friendship.
Stupid i know
better to stay distant.
But my friend for now i will stand by you
and cradle your head.
Remake you in gold leaf
placed softly over lead.
So lets dine
on the tongue that lashed you,
lets sup the tender meat
from the hands that bruised you.
But i warn you
in a second i would take your eyes
and throw the rest to the dogs.
Lets not let it come to that.
My friend.
my face nestled into your neck.
Your tears fresh on my shoulder
mine running down your back.
My fury blisters your skin
your fear melts through my veins
my gut goes tight
your blood runs cold.
We are both scarred by sharing
both sullied by friendship.
Stupid i know
better to stay distant.
But my friend for now i will stand by you
and cradle your head.
Remake you in gold leaf
placed softly over lead.
So lets dine
on the tongue that lashed you,
lets sup the tender meat
from the hands that bruised you.
But i warn you

and throw the rest to the dogs.
Lets not let it come to that.
My friend.
