Days like Today
Days like today
Always seem so grey
Fresh pops taste flat
and every seam feels frayed
I can be atop a hill
without a worry in the world
but for some reason
my mind feels unfurled
On days like today
I can't listen to the breeze
Cause filling up my ears
are insecurities
I'm out of bed
but not truly awake
I only eat, against my will
for my body's sake
Days like today
seem to last forever
my body walking
through a frozen river
White water washes
any feeling that isn't numb
the cold’s bite renders me lame
and renders me dumb
Days like today
come way too often
and sometimes, methinks
there be no other option
So here I'll sit
and stare at the walls
and curse out my name
in these lonely halls
Days like today
are a pox to my being
Days like today
make sure happy days are fleeing
Always seem so grey
Fresh pops taste flat
and every seam feels frayed
I can be atop a hill
without a worry in the world
but for some reason
my mind feels unfurled
On days like today
I can't listen to the breeze
Cause filling up my ears
are insecurities
I'm out of bed
but not truly awake
I only eat, against my will
for my body's sake
Days like today
seem to last forever
my body walking
through a frozen river
White water washes
any feeling that isn't numb
the cold’s bite renders me lame
and renders me dumb
Days like today
come way too often
and sometimes, methinks
there be no other option
So here I'll sit
and stare at the walls
and curse out my name
in these lonely halls
Days like today
are a pox to my being
Days like today
make sure happy days are fleeing
