Darkness fading
Fat little girl that she sees in the mirror
Chub seeping through her clothing
Shouting 'don't eat don't eat!'
Starvation not working and
Problems becoming more than just a nightmare
The blade
Sharp and bringing relief
Slicing crimson red
The monsters were quiet
But it never lasted
Stopped eating
Breathing
Smiling
Living
The world faded to grey
The sky was cloudy and dark
Staring at the girl in the mirror
Tears running down her face
Red oozing out of open wounds
Fat everywhere consuming herself
She smashed the mirror
And the moment she did she saw the image dissolve
Fade away and a new one appeared
One of a scared girl
Who was too pale
Sickly thin and malnourished
Scars showing all over her body
As she turned away from the mirror and walked outside
The clouds broke and the sun cut through
Touching the earth
Weakly she smiled and saw the faces she loved so much
The ones who never left her when she was dark and disturbed
Her mind is still sickly but she doesn't feel the need to destroy herself anymore
She walked into the sunlight and let the warmth embrace her
Making her feel loved for the first time in a very long time
She's not perfect
But she's no longer broken
She can stand on her own two feet again and can proudly say
"I am happy."
