If We Could Runaway.
Your spark burned brighter than my light,
but the plan we hatched was firm,
I would be the moonlight,
and you'd shoot the starting gun.
Still, I couldn't come out,
because your car never came.
Yet, I stared through my window,
my vision obscured by heavy rain.
I would like to tell you how much that stung,
having to unpack through salty tears,
and my ever-burning lungs.
Though the lump in my throat's been gone for years.
No blame passed around,
but we never got to runaway.
If you ever decided to come back,
I'll be hiding in the same place.
