Tombstone
Underneath a stone laid a catacomb of tunnels
Routing in different directions but always seems to funnel
They descended deep into the crust, beyond the light of day
With the darkness swallowed ambience, life became the prey
And sure enough came organisms devoted to their will
To feed upon the soil beyond the cobble covered till
As they descended with the darkness death was hearkened with a shrill
Now they lay beneath the coffin covers and everything was still

I like your description of the tomb, "with the darkness swallowed ambience, life became the prey" I thought this was a really great line.
